X launches audience control feature: replies from verified accounts only

X recently implemented a new audience control feature where you can select to only receive replies from verified accounts.

Mind you, only 0.5% of X users have the premium subscription in the first place. So it’s unlikely that this is a feature that many X subscribers will consider using.

This new feature could be counterproductive in the long run, especially if subscribers are trying to build their accounts to partake in the creator ad revenue program— where engagement is absolutely everything. Restricting your engagement to less than than 1% of X most likely won’t be appealing to anyone. But hey, who really knows?

I personally don’t see the vision and it rings counterproductive in the long run for a plethora of reasons but Musk has his heart set on creating incentives to get users to for up the $11/month!

Before we part ways until next week, I want to briefly mention that X is exploring the idea of tiered pricing packages. Personally, I believe he is looking for ways to obliterate the legendary app. Let’s see how this all plays out 👀
